This is my first attempt at writing something for public consumption, and it being a memoir, I think, makes the task easier, although doing so without lying is a test. Eighty-plus years is a lot to write about, so this first book only covers the first twenty-five years of my life here on this planet. If I live long enough, my mind stays clear, and my fingers don’t stiffen, there may be more. Not being able to play golf or go fishing or hunting anymore leaves a lot of time for memories. Growing up in Texas in the 1940s and 50s, spending four years on active duty in the US Air Force, working my way through college, becoming a CPA, and having a forty-three-year working career bakes a big cake of memories. Being married to the same girl for sixty-six years and counting, having two wonderful children, and four grandchildren is the icing on that memory cake. I have been blessed and watched over more than I deserve, and I try to give thanks to Him as often as I can.
