A collection of poems by Myles Knape
–
This book is derived from all my various experiences and thoughts over my long lifetime. And though I’m about to become ninety-three there are still areas in my mind that I want to explore. Poetry is a means by which I can reach that goal. My youth was spent in the thirties during which time there existed a Great Depression, which shaped my life. It was during this time that I began to explore poetry as a means of letting my youthful voice be heard. It soon became a passion which has remained with me to this very moment. At fourteen years I was called upon to teach Sunday School. My exploration into poetry contributed much to my ability to reach the minds of those I had been called on to instruct. I find it invigorating to see a ‘subject’ and then to write a review of that subject in my Journal of Poetry. It should be noted that much of the poetry in this book has been written during my retirement, not all, but most.
It is my wish that some of the poems in this book have a personal meaning for you, the reader. Beyond this it is my sincere hope that, at the least, you find the poems enjoyable.
