Wind in the Sail
Poetry is at its heart and expression of emotion. It is personal to the author, but also every reader. The reader will not have the same experiences as the author and so will see the meaning of each poem differently, each in their own personal way. This is why great poems, by such authors as Frost, Lord Tennyson, or Henley, find new meaning with each reader, and yet continue the same thought as the author. In this book I have placed poems that are meaningful to me but also that I feel can be applied to the lives of all readers, according to their own experiences. Some poems apply to persons I love, others to experiences as a husband, father, sailor, and traveler through life. I hope that you will find your own personal meaning in each poem.
